While Cliff Richard is almost beyond criticism (he does what he does; if you like it, fine, if you don't, it's unlikely he's losing much sleep), he is equally, almost beyond comment. What more is there to say about a man who, now in his early 70s, has had more hit records in the UK than any other performer or group (yes, even more than Elvis and The Beatles). Everyone knows he has had Top Ten records in every decade since the 1950s, and still remains as popular as he's ever been - despite a recent lack of airplay due in most part to the snobbishness of radio controllers trying to be 'cool'. He's a devoted Christian but doesn't ram his views down the necks of others. He looks and acts like a man half his age and could probably beat most amateurs, of any age, at a few sets of tennis! He also appears indefatigable, still performing concerts across the world in between promoting new releases. But what about the music? Cliff has made more albums than just about anyone else (at least 75 at last count) and that's a lot of songs. But he has always had the knack of choosing the composers and writers who best express his style and approach. What other performer who first hit big in the 1950s was still releasing classic pop hits throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and into the new millennium? Not everything he releases will of course please everyone, but that isn't and has never been Cliff's objective. This collection features 3 CDs containing some of his classic early hits alongside interviews with the man himself, during which he discusses his career, his music, his life and his hopes and dreams. Coming over with sincerity, honesty, humour and above all, an enormous sense of decency, this unique collector's set is certain to delight Cliff Richard's millions of fans both new and old.
