The prolific songwriter Travis Haddix leads a Clark Kent existence -- he records modern electric blues for Ichiban Records in Atlanta but lives in Bedford, OH (outside of Cleveland), where he's been a postal worker for decades. This CD features Haddix's trademark songs that feature catchy titles and double entendre, risque lyrics that are more humorous than obscene. "No, No, No" explores the negative vibes associated with the word. A vocal chameleon, he does a top notch Bobby "Blue" Bland growl on "Getting by with a Lie," a slow blues accented by a spine tingling guitar. He's even more Bland-ish on the slow, winding "Strange," while the infectious, loping "Through with Love" has lilt and charm. A typically solid Haddix album.
