The Noel Redding Band - The Missing Album (1995)

The Missing Album is the third album by the English-Irish folk rock band, The Noel Redding Band, released in 1995 after their break up.

After the split of the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1969, bassist Noel Redding found himself bouncing from band to band -- including such forgotten outfits as Fat Mattress, Road, and the Noel Redding Band. The latter act was also known as the Clonakilty Cowboys (titled after the town in Ireland where Redding lived at the time), and issued a pair of releases in the mid-'70s: 1975's Clonakilty Cowboys and 1976's Blowin'. It turns out that the group also completed work on a third album, which was ultimately shelved and unreleased for nearly two decades. In 1995, the tracks were finally issued under the title of The Missing Album, and overall, the material is reminiscent of the popular rock bands of the time -- the Grateful Dead, Bob Seger, etc. In other words, such middle-of-the-road tracks as "In the Night" or a somewhat goofy cover of the Beatles' "Lady Madonna" will not be confused with the psychedelic acid rock of "She's So Fine" or "Little Miss Strange" (two of Redding's most renowned compositions during his Experience days) anytime soon. Ultimately, only the most extreme Noel Redding fans will be curious to give The Missing Album a spin.
