Hans van Lier was born in Schildwolde in 1961. At the age of 1, the family moved to Siddeburen, where he spent his entire childhood, attending kindergarten and primary school. From the age of twenty he also studied metal, as an instrument maker. It's there right away, the music; He uses heard (radio) music and adventures experienced during the day to put him to bed as a toddler, making up his own songs and charts and playing DJ. When he saw his brother Harry playing the guitar at the age of fourteen - Harry later switched to the bass - he immediately knew what he wanted and after a few tries he bought his first guitar for 50 guilders, from the Eko brand. Hans becomes a regular customer at the Pot record store in Siddeburen, buys and listens to LPs by, for example, John Mayall, Ry Cooder and Cuby and the Blizzards. He buys booklets with chords and one of the first songs rehearsed in this way is House of the Rising Sun, known by the British The Animals, among others. From the age of thirteen to fifteen, he played his guitar every spare minute of the day and discovered the blues scale on his own. From this ladder he learns to play solo. He also quickly mastered rhythm guitar and discovered parts that he later also heard with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Texas shuffle; Hans turns out to be a natural talent. Someone once said, "In your past life you were a black man living in the southern United States."
