Eicher released his first solo album, Native Language, in 2018. Being almost entirely original music, with the exception of the last track “Tennessee Waltz,” this debut album is the culmination of a diverse background of styles and genres, such as jazz, gypsy jazz. and latin music that brought Eicher where he is today. The title is inspired by Eicher’s journey learning Spanish starting in 2009 and thinking about music as a language that musicians develop on their instrument.

Native Language features guitarist, Jonathan Rogerson, who also produced the project, along with Patrick Atwater on bass and Bryan Brock on percussion for the majority of the tracks. Also, vocalists Lindsay Lou and Marcela Pinilla (Eicher’s wife) make appearances on tracks 2 and 5, respectively, as well as Jeff Goodkind on piano, Eli Bishop on violin, Austin Filingo on guitar, and Miguel Alvarado on alto sax each getting a track.
