TABLETOM is a progressive rock group formed in 1976 by Roberto GONZALES, Jesus ORTIZ, Javier DENIS, brothers Pedro and Jose Manuel RAMIREZ and Paco OLIVER. The band came to be between musicians from the commune in the Malaga country side, which released their first album in 1980 which featured so called Andalusian rock with jazz and local folk elements. Following that album though, their label refused to promote their music because of the genre incompatibility which led to more trouble later on. They survived until the middle of the 80s with their own record company which they used to distribute material on cassettes but dissolved their first incarnation in 1985.

In the 1990 the group recovered as a trio led by GONZALES and RAMIREZ brothers with a less experimental sound, though occasionally in a couple of songs being a rare example of a Canterbury sound in Spain. The group kept releasing albums which incorporated also blues and reggae elements throughout the years, and continued working as a band after the death of Roberto GONZALES in 2011, which was followed by releases and performances as a homage to his legacy.
